so che non e il posto giusto dove postare ma non so dove trovare un aiuto migliore di qui...percui se potete non cancellarlo per qualche giorno ve ne sarei grato!!!

veniamo al problema :qualche giorno fa mentre aggiornavo il bios del pc di mia sorella improvvisamente si e spento e adesso mi ritrovo on un pc morto ho trovato in rete una guida per ripristinare il bios ,su hardwareupgrade ,allora ho copiato tale guida su un cd e ho portato il portatile ad un centro dell mia citta ma non ci sono riusciti,adesso sempre su hardware upgrade mi hanno postato un'altro sistema specifico per il mio portatile (acer travelmate 4150 con windows xp)ma e tutto in inglese e non riesco a venirne a capo...

sono nella cacca se qulcuno puo' aiutarmi si faccia avanti ovviemente paghero il disturbo...tral'altro il pc non e piu in garanzia e all'acer per sistemarlo vorrebbero 400 euro perche loro cambiano direttamente la scheda madre....

Firstly, Do not trust ACER Engineers - they have created a mess of the BIOS Flashing process, which doesn't ever work in Windows correctly.

Acer Laptops have good hardware for reasonable cost, but Support is where they suck.

Do not use the Windows BIOS version to make a BIOS Flash. I did the same mistake with my "new" Acer 4152 NCLI Laptop purchased in 2006 and when I asked for help from Acer support I realized I had to pay "phone consultancy charges" per 30 minutes.

If you do not find a higher version of a BIOS then download a lower version of BIOS if your BIOS files are only "Windows". You need DOS BIOS Flash files for this process to work, so write mails to Acer if they don't have these DOS BIOS Flash files for your laptop online

So, Always create a DOS Boot Floppy and then Flash the BIOS, its simpler and saves you headaches later.

Anyways, this was not the first episode with my ACER Laptop- I had Windows XP not booting up or "hanging" on boot up, so I decided to move to Linux - PCLinux 2007 which is a far better O/s. Ok, here is the step by step instruction since I faced the same problem and I have fixed it - easily to my surprise.

*Get an External USB Floppy Drive

*Create a DOS Bootable Floppy Disk
(using Win XP from Format Menu, you can also go to any of the disk recovery sites and get a dos bootable ISO and write that ISO to a CD and then boot the CD and then make a bootable Floppy)

*Go to the Acer Europe web-site or choose region as Europe from Acer.com (ftp://ftp1.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/) .

*Download the latest BIOS zip file for your model or the closest model (Example: If you have an Acer 4152 model laptop, you should choose travelmate_4150) . From the bios directory, download the latest BIOS zip file, in which you will find a readme.txt Example for 4150 the latest BIOS version is 2.50D.

*You have to be lucky to find the following line in your readme.txt
"Using Crisis"

*If you find the above line in your readme.txt, you can proceed with the recovery, since you have a DOS floppy and you also have a way to create the 512K ROM file which can be copied along with bflashit.bin on the Floppy.

*Now when you have downloaded the zip - sometimes there are two versions as for 4150 model - EDL00_250_WinFlash.zip and edl00_250.zip.

*Do not use the Windows version to make a BIOS Flash. I did the same mistake. Always create a DOS Boot Floppy and then Flash the BIOS, its simpler and saves you headaches later.

*Unzip the edl00_250.zip file and then you will see a file that resembles the name BUILDROM.Bat or BUIDROM.bat (spelling mistakes are common with ACER)

*Open a DOS command prompt on your Windows machine or other laptop and then run the batch file

*You would have created 6 ROM files of 512K length each - 43M.ROM,44MV.ROM, UMA.ROM and their corresponding DOCK versions - i.e. 43Mdock.ROM and so on.

*Now you have to copy bflashit.bin and one of the above ROM files onto the DOS Bootable floppy you have created.

The process is trial and error and there is no harm done at all.

*I tried without the DOCK versions and when I tried by renaming UMA.ROM to BIOS.ROM as the first readme.txt said, and copying that to the Floppy it worked like magic.

*Take the floppy and connect the external USB Floppy Drive to the "Dead screen Acer Laptop", No need of removing any battery or any screws from the laptop,

*Just press Fn and ESC keys together on the "dead screen laptop" and press the power button (making sure that the laptop is on AC power - since if the power in your laptop fails during the BIOS Flash, then you may need to replace the BIOS Chip - which is a sad process.)

*After you have pressed the power button on your "dead screen laptop", keep the hold on the Fn and ESC key till you see the green light on your External Floppy Drive with your DOS Bootable Flash floppy being read inside.

*This is a good sign and you can now release the Fn and ESC keys and just watch the laptop slowly reading in the Flash from your Floppy and "Burning"/writing the new flash software into the Flash EEPROM chip.

*Keep the laptop for 2 minutes as it is and you will see the hard disc power light go off and the laptop only showing the AC/Battery light - meaning the laptop has now powered down.

*IF ALL is WELL with the .ROM file you selected then you shall see the BIOS screen as soon as you press the Power Button on your "new ALIVE screen Acer Laptop"

All the BEST and keep trying all the 6 files (maybe 6 files are an example for 4150) - similar process should exist for all the "new" ACER model laptops.

Per me non ci son problemi a mantenere il topic in sezione per un po', a patto però che sia accettato da tutti e che poi non venga utilizzato come precedente da qualche furbo.

Ho cercato di tradurre al meglio!
Ma se il pc si è spento durante la procedura di flash del BIOS credo che l'unica soluzione sia la riprogrammazione del CHIP e la cifra chiesta dalla ACER per una semplice riprogrammazione di una EEPROM mi sembra veramente un furto!

In primo luogo, non credere agli Ingegneri della ACER - essi hanno creato un bel pasticcio col processo di Flash del BIOS, che non sempre funziona correttamente in WinZoZZ!!!.

Acer Laptop dispone di buon hardware ad un costo ragionevole, ma il loro punto debole è il supporto.


Non utilizzare la versione BIOS di Windows per fare un Flash BIOS.
Ho fatto lo stesso errore con il mio "nuovo" Acer 4152 Laptop NCLI acquistato nel 2006 e quando ho chiesto l'aiuto di Acer ho dovuto pagare 30 minuti di inutile telefonata.

Ti serve la versione DOS del file Flash BIOS per questo lavoro,

Quindi, devi creare un dischetto DOS di avvio e poi il BIOS Flash sono passi abbastanza semplici.


Ok, ecco passo per passo le istruzioni da quando ho affrontato lo stesso problema

* Devi avere un floppy drive USB Esterno

* Devi Creare un dischetto DOS di avvio
(utilizzando Win XP dal menu Format, potete anche scaricare la versione ISO boottabile dal WEB)

* Devi andare sul sito della Acer Europa e selezionare la regione Europe (ftp://ftp1.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/).

* Scarica l'ultima BIOS file zip per il tuo modello (Nota Personale non sono d'accordo a scaricare la versione del modello più vicino!!!! ZiPixel).

* spera di essere fortunato a trovare la seguente riga nel file: readme.txt
"Using Crisi"

* Se trovi la riga nel file readme.txt, puòi procedere con il recupero, in quanto si dispone di un dischetto DOS
e hai anche un modo per creare il file di 512K ROM che possono essere copiati con bflashit.bin sul Floppy .

* dopo che hai scaricato il zip

* Non utilizzare la versione di Windows per fare il BIOS-Flash disk.
devi creare un dischetto DOS di avvio e poi il BIOS Flash.

* Decomprimere il file scaricato e poi cercare un file simile al nome BUILDROM.Bat o
BUIDROM.bat (errori di ortografia sono comuni con i sistemi ACER)

* Apri un prompt dei comandi DOS e quindi eseguire il suddetto file batch

* si dovrebbero generare 6 ROM file di lunghezza ciascuno 512K
- 43M.ROM, 44MV.ROM, UMA.ROM e le corrispondenti versioni DOCK - vale a dire 43Mdock.ROM e così via.

* Ora dovete copiare bflashit.bin e uno dei suddetti ROM file su dischetto DOS di avvio creato.

Il processo è per tentativi e nonc è detto che vada a buon fine

* io Ho provato senza i Dock e quando ho cercato di rinominare UMA.ROM a BIOS.ROM come indicato nel readme.txt
il tutto ha funzionato come per magia.

* Prendere il dischetto e collegare Floppy Drive USB Esterno al "portatile Acer dall schermo morto!!!", non c'è necessità di
rimuovere le batterie

* Basta premere insieme ESC e FN sul laptop deceduto e premere il tasto di accensione
(fai in modo che il portatile sia alimentato dal cavo - onde evitare che la corrente cada mentre si effettua la procedura pena la riprogrammazione del CHIP del FLASH BIOS)

* Dopo aver premuto il tasto di accensione sul tuo laptop, Premente insieme i tasti Fn e ESC fino a vedere la luce verde
sul tuo Floppy Externo con il vostro dischetto di avvio di Flash all'interno.

* Se la luce verde si accende è un buon segno e ora è possibile rilasciare il Fn e CES chiavi e solo osservare il computer portatile
lentamente iniziare la procedura di Flashing del BIOS dal dischetto.

* Tenere il computer portatile per 2 minuti così com'è e vedrete la lucetta del disco rigido disco rigido spegnersi
e la luce dell'alimentazione attiva il che significa che il portatile è spento.

* Se è tutto a posto con il file ROM allora vedrai la schermata del BIOS non appena si preme
il tasto di accensione sul tuo portatiler finalmente VIVO !!!

Il problema non e` creare il floppy, ma dove infilarlo. Dovresti procurarti (comprarlo) il floppy via usb, non so quanto ti costa, prova a chiedere in assistenza se ti fanno la cortesia altrimenti tua sorella in nome della legge telo tira dietro....

ciao una volta creato il floppy con il giusto metodo mettendoci dentro il bios poi potrei provare anch'io comprando un floppy usb a vedere se riesco a farlo partire....

ma il difficile e creare quel floppy ,ed infatti chiedo a qualche esperto del forum se puo' crearmelo
