Ho scaricato questo programmino e l'ho provato bevemente, rimanendo letteralmente stupefatto.

E' piccolo, leggero, veloce, gratuito, legale e funziona perfettamente. E' possibile anche effettuare alcune regolazioni di fino, come ad esempio quelle sui livelli, anche per singolo canale.

Se qualcuno si prendesse la briga di tradurre le pagine del sito in italiano sarebbe il caso di pubblicare una breve guida, magari nella sezione apposita. A mio avviso merita, merita davvero.

L'unica seria limitazione è che non prevede l'utilizzo dei plugin di photoshop; ma molte volte questi non servono, quindi...

In ogni caso, per le funzioni che ha (livelli, maschera di contrasto, interpolazioni varie, possibilità di ruotare l'immagine di fino, controllo sui canali dei colori, controllo sulle alte luci e molto altro ancora, che potrete scoprire da soli) è in grado di sostituire molte volte ed egregiamente programmi ben più complessi ed elefantiaci.

Da provare assolutamente.

Step 1: Brightness & Contrast

If image appears too bright or too dark:
Simple: Run Brightness command to adjust brightness to desired level.

If image appears washed-out, pale or hazy:
Simple: Run Boost command to improve the image.
Advanced: Run Levels command and set first slider (Whitepoint) at the end of the histogram and second slider (Blackpoint) at the beginning of the histogram.

If image has deep, uneven or undesirable shadows:
Advanced: Run Shadow Control. It allows you to brighten and show details in the shadows without affecting mid-tones and highlights. It can also act as a fill-in flash.

If image has bright highlights:
Advanced: Run Highlight Control. If allows you to darken the highlights without affecting shadows and mid-tones.


Step 2: Rotation

DaVinci will listen to your camera and will rotate the image automatically. In case your camera doesn't support this feature, or you wish to rotate the image manually, here are the options:

To rotate the image 90 degrees clockwise:
Rotate 90 egress clockwise.

To rotate the image 90 degrees counter-clockwise:
Rotate 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

To rotate the image 180 degrees:
Rotate 180 degrees.

If image has a tilted horizon, you can rotate the image by arbitrary amount.
Simple: Run Rotate arbitrary command and, using your mouse, adjust the handles on the line that has appeared on the image. That is the horizon line. Simply place the line over the horizon on the image and click 'Ok' button on the 'Rotation parameters' window.


Step 3: Cropping

To crop the image:
Simple: Select the Crop tool. If you know the size of the image you will print, you can choose it in the Mode combo-box. For instance, if you will print 4x6, choose 4x6 as the cropping mode. If your print will be 6x4 instead of 4x6, press 'Swap' button. Then, simply adjust the size of the cropping rectangle by dragging the corners or the sides of the rectangle. Press 'Ok' to apply the crop. The image will fit on the paper without white borders, or printing machine deciding where to crop the image.


Step 4: Color corrections

If image has a color cast:
Simple: Run White Balance tool and, click on the part of the image that should be gray, like snow, rice, newspapers, napkins, white or gray shirt...
Simple: If there is nothing gray in the image that you can use, you can still color balance the image manually. Simply click on the wheel on the color that image is tinted with. The selected color cast will be removed.

To remove red eyes from the image:
Simple: Select the Red eye removal tool. Zoom in on the eye for the closer look. At any point you can press and hold Space button on your keyboard and drag the image with the mouse. To fix the red-eye, simply click on the eye that needs the correction. You can adjust the pupil brightness in the 'Red eye removal' parameters. You can also switch to manual mode and paint over the pupil. When you release the mouse button, DaVinci will make the correction. If you don't like the result, simply choose 'Undo' from the 'Edit' menu, or press Ctrl+Z on your keyboard, modify the parameters and try again.

To convert the image to black and white or sepia:
Simple: Select the Black and white / Sepia tool. Here you have several options:

Black and white - standard black and white
Sepia antique - emulates the look of the photograph taken in 1800's
Sepia spring - very subtle sepia
Sepia spring vivid - standard sepia



Step 5: Special effects

Infra-red film:
Advanced: Select the IR film tool. Using this tool it's possible to make the image look as if it was taken using the infra-red film, rather then standard film. It can also be used to convert the image into unusual black and white.

Photographic filters:
Simple to advanced : Select the Photographic Filters tool. This tool emulates the colored filters photographers sometimes use on their lens while shooting. It can tint the image, or part of the image in selected color. It can, for instance, make the sky bluer, create the sunset colors on the image taken in noon, darken the featureless sky and many, many more. It can also be used as a tool for converting the image into black and white. That is the equivalent of using the color filter with black and white film. For instance, when using red filter on a blue sky, it makes the sky very dark, while red-tinted objects are bright. It is particularly useful with portraits taken in nature, as it darkens foliage and accents the face.


Step 6: Sharpening

If details look blurred:
Simple to Advanced: Zoom the image to 100% and select the Sharpen tool. The tool uses the technique called 'Un-sharp masking'. In most cases the default settings will suffice. Remember that sharpening the image should be the last step in the work-flow.")

Passo 1: Luminosità e Contrasto

Se l'immagine è visivamente troppo chiara o troppo scura:
Semplice: Esegui il comando "Luminosità" per regolare la luminosità al livello desiderato.

Se l'immagine appare sbiadita, pallida o soggetta a foschia:
Semplice: esegui il comando "Boost" per migliorare l'immagine.-
Avanzato: Esegui il comando "Levels" e imposta il cursore sinistro (punto di bianco) all'estremità dell'istogramma e il secondo cursore (punto di nero) all'estremità opposta dell'istogramma.

Se l'immagine ha ombre dure, sbilanciate o indesiderate:
Avanzato: esegui "Shadow Control". Permette di schiarire e mostrare dettagli nelle ombre, senza influenzare mezzi toni e alte luci. Può anche simulare un flash di riempimento.

Se l'immagine ha alte luci molto luminose:
Avanzato: esegui "Hilight Control". Permette di scurire le alte luci senza influenzare ombre e mezzitoni.

Passo 2: rotazione.

DaVinci prenderà le impostazioni della fotocamera, ruotando l’immagine automaticamente. Nel caso la fotocamera non supporti tale caratteristica, o se vuoi ruotare manualmente l’immagine, queste sono le opzioni:
per ruotare l’immagine di 90° in senso orario/antiorario: Rotate 90 degrees clockwise/counter-clockwise.

Per ruotare l’immagine di 180 gradi: rotate 180 degrees.

Se l’immagine ha l’orizzonte storto, la puoi ruotare di un valore arbitrario.
Semplicemente, seleziona “Rotate arbitrary” e con il mouse regola le estremità della linea che compare sull’immagine. Quella è la linea dell’orizzonte: posizionala sopra l’orizzonte e clicca sul pulsante “Ok” nella finestra “Rotation parameters”.

Passo 3: Cropping
Per croppare l’immagine: seleziona lo strumento crop. Se conosci le dimensioni dell’immagine da stampare, puoi selezionarle nel menù a tendina. Per esempio, se andrai a stampare un 4x6, seleziona 4x6 come modalità di crop.
Se la tua stampa sarà di 6x4, clicca sul pulsante “Swap”. A questo punto, regola la dimensione del rettangolo di crop trascinando gli angoli di ogni estremità, e cliccando “Ok” per applicare il crop. L’immagine si adatterà sulla carta senza bordi bianchi.

Ho windows2000 con sp4 e, purtroppo, questo software non mi funziona ... non mi va di passare a vers. successive.
Qualcuno è riuscito a farlo funzionare ugualmente?
Oppure necessità di avere per forza almeno Xp?
